2007 Dodge Dakota Evaporator Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How Does the Evaporator Influence Refrigerant Oil Level Adjustment in A/C Systems on 2007 Dodge Dakota?
A: During servicing of the A/C refrigerant system, the oil level must be checked to avoid any harm to the A/C compressor while using the A/C. When you change only the evaporator, add 60 milliliters (2 fluid ounces) of the required refrigerant oil from the vehicle compressor. It is important to replace both the O-ring seals and gaskets after opening a refrigerant line, so leaks are prevented. With the evaporator tubes upright, set the rubber seal over them and then attach the rubber flange and seal to their proper places inside the HVAC housing. After that, set the A/C evaporator in the housing unit's lower section, connect the housing and finally fit the entire housing in place. Should you replace several parts in your A/C system, refer to the Refrigerant Oil Capacities chart to decide how much oil to install.
