2007 Dodge Dakota Heater Core Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Safely Service and Repair a Heater Core on 2007 Dodge Dakota?
A: Service or repair your heater core by first removing and isolating the negative battery cable to disconnect the air bag, then giving the air bag system capacitor two minutes to discharge. This is important so that the air bag cannot be triggered by accident, endangering or harming people. Because the heater core tubes are not meant to be handled individually, they should not be moved, loosened or taken out to avoid problems. You should begin by taking the HVAC housing off and put it somewhere secure and at this point you can disassemble the housing. Should the foam seal around the heater core be deformed or damaged, it should be replaced. Lift the heater core gently from its place within the housing, at a lower section. When required, take off the rubber flange from around the heater core tubes, buy way of any bent or broken components must be changed.
