    A: To perform the work on the heater core RG models, begin by disconnecting and isolating the negative battery cable to disable the air bag system, then give it two minutes so that the capacitor flushes out any electrical energy before you continue. Remove the engine cooling fluid and separate the heater hoses from the heater core tubes. Take care not to damage your vehicle by first putting down towels and then clean up the coolant with the absorbed towels after removing the driver side silencer. With the screw loose, press both heater core tubes in toward the middle of the car to get them away from the heater core. Put plugs in the open fittings on the heater core tube and seal the ports too. After that, pull both heater core tubes away from the distribution housing and toward the back so they come free from the seal and from underneath the dash.
