2007 Dodge Ram 2500 Engine Control Module Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Replace an Engine Control Module on 2007 Dodge Ram 2500?
A: Disconnect the negative battery cable before you replace the Engine Control Module, with the vehicle's ignition turned off. Turn off the ABS CAB for the time being to prevent problems with related DTCs because of the VIN broadcast and after you have installed the new PCM, write the VIN using a scan tool from the main engine menu. After that, look for "Miscellaneous" and follow by verifying that the entered VIN is correct, turning off the engine and reattaching the ABS connector. Set up the PCM using the vehicle's VIN and mileage to prevent a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) from showing up. You'll find the PCM in the engine compartment next to the dash panel. Lift the cover from the electrical connectors that are hooked to the PCM, then gently pull the three 32-way cables (four 38-way if NGC is fitted) off the PCM. To end, unscrew the three PCM bolts and take the PCM from inside the vehicle.
