2007 Dodge Sprinter 2500 Timing Cover Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Install a Timing Cover with Proper Sealing and Repair Techniques on 2007 Dodge Sprinter 2500?
A: Wipe off oil and dirt from the upper left front cover sealing surface before fitting on the timing cover. Using Loctite 7200 or another same-type sealant, place a bead 1 mm (+0.5 mm) wide by 1 mm high on the left front upper cover sealing surface. The cover should be fastened on within 10 minutes after applying the compound. After that, fit the upper right front cover in place and tighten the bolts holding it there to 9 Nm (80 in. lbs.). Put the engine harness in position and join the camshaft position sensor connectors as needed. First, install the appropriate air control valve gasket, next add the air control valve and hold the bolts in place while tightening them to 14 Nm (124 in. lbs.). Now fit the air control valve air tube and connect everything together, along with the air pump and engine cover bracket. Tighten the bolts to 9 Nm. Then, run the remote connector to the ground and fix the engine cover into place.
