2007 Jeep Commander Brake Pad Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Change Brake Pads on the Front Wheels on 2007 Jeep Commander?
A: Before swapping out the brake pads, dislodge and wipe away all rust and all debris on the anti-rattle clip mounts on the brake caliper adapter. After that, put new anti-rattle clips in the caliper adapter and the brake pads, inboard and outboard, onto the same adapter as well. After that, fit the caliper on the caliper adapter and tighten the bolts on the caliper slide pins to 44 Nm (32 ft. lbs.). After the wheel and tire are installed, drop out the support and then bring the vehicle to the ground. After that, hold the brake pedal to ensure that the calipers and brake pads are applied, check for a firm pedal and then add brake fluid if necessary.
