2007 Jeep Commander Brake Disc Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Front Brake Disc While Maintaining Original Orientation on 2007 Jeep Commander?
A: To take care of the front brake rotor, elevate and support the car and unfasten the wheel and tire before you remove the gauge. After that, loosen the 3 caliper adapter mounting bolts and remove the caliper adapter from the steering knuckle. Position the caliper anchor in a nearby part of the suspension using a wire, so that the brake hose doesn't sustain the weight of the caliper. With all the resharpener removed and the toolbox inside, remove the o-ring (2) that keeps the brake rotor (1) attached to the hub and lastly, unfasten the brake rotor from the hub/bearing. When pulling off the front rotor and hub/bearing, first mark them to ensure you can install them right side up as they are meant to be matched in the car for best performance.
