2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee Evaporator Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Effectively Service an Evaporator to Ensure Optimal A/C Refrigerant System Performance on 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee?
A: It is necessary to maintain the proper level of refrigerant oil in the system when servicing the A/C refrigerant to avoid causing harm to the compressor. If you replace several A/C components, go to the Refrigerant Oil Capacities chart to learn how much oil to add. Add only 60 milliliters (2 fluid ounces) of refrigerant oil when making a single A/C evaporator replacement. If you are opening a refrigerant line, be sure to put on a new O-ring seal or gasket to prevent leaks. The first step is to set the insulator over the A/C evaporator and change any blistered or worn seals. After that, install the rubber seal into the bottom section of the HVAC housing, swapping out any worn or ruined seals. Install the evaporator into the HVAC housing, check the drain to prevent obstructions and make sure the insulator and seal are both positioned properly. After finishing the HVAC unit, place it in its housing while adding the specific amount of refrigerant oil.
