Sensors 1 and 3 are located upstream and sensors 3 and 4 are found downstream. Whenever removing or putting in an oxygen sensor, use a removal and installation tool. Afterward, use the proper tap to give the threads in the exhaust pipe a good clean. You should never grease the electricity connector of the sensor or solder the wiring.
