2007 Jeep Liberty Steering Knuckle Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service and Repair a Steering Knuckle on 2007 Jeep Liberty?
A: Before starting on the steering knuckle, raise and support the vehicle and then take off the tire and wheel assembly. After that, remove the caliper adapter and make sure the brake caliper is correctly supported so the brake hose is protected. When that's done, you should remove the disc brake rotor and the wheel speed sensor. When the unit is equipped with four-wheel drive, first pry off the nut on the axle shaft, then take out the hub/bearing. After that, separate the outer tie rod end from the steering knuckle and then use tool C-4150A to unfasten the lower ball joint from the suspension arm after removing the lower ball joint nut. After that, take out the upper ball joint nut and break the joint from the knuckle using tool C-4150A. Now, drive the knuckle out of the car.
