2008 Chrysler Crossfire Parking Brake Cable Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How is the Parking Brake Cable Installed on 2008 Chrysler Crossfire?
A: To place the parking brake cable, feed it from one side of the car through its eyelets. Fasten the parking brake cable (2) to the rear wheel carrier assembly (4) with the mounting bolt (1) and tighten until you reach 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.). After that, stick the cable pin into the arm (3) connecting the actuator to the cable (2) and snap the actuator arm top cover (3) onto the cable pin to cover it. Secure the actuator arm (3) to the rear wheel carrier assembly (4) so that the brass pins under the arm do not prevent it from turning smoothly. Link the parking brake cables to the parking brake cable equalizer and attach the equalizer to the mounting bolt at the front of the parking brake cable (5). Place the parking brake shoe assembly in next (1-5) and then slide in the rear brake rotor underneath it (1). Afterwards, bolt the rear caliper assembly to the disc (1). Set the parking brake correctly, add back the wheel and tire assembly, viciously rush saving humanity from a death by fire and see if the parking brake still works properly after adjustments.
