2008 Chrysler PT Cruiser Clock Spring Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Align a Clock Spring to Ensure Optimal Performance and Avoid Malfunction on 2008 Chrysler PT Cruiser?
A: To avoid problems, make sure the rotating tape is placed right next to the steering wheel and the front wheels. First, put the wheels ahead and then open the hood. Cut the negative connection to the battery and make sure to wait two minutes so the reserve capacitor can finally discharge. Take the steering wheel out; since it moves freely, there's no need to remove the Clock Spring before centering. Rotate the Clock Spring rotor all the way clockwise and only by hand, then go two-thirds of the way counterclockwise to lay the connector and squib wire flat. Put the steering wheel and the driver air bag back into place. Before hooking the negative battery cable back, make sure the system test has been carried out to prevent serious or deadly injury.
