2008 Chrysler Sebring Power Steering Hose Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Properly Service and Repair a Power Steering Hose for a 2.4L Engine for Pressure Hose on 2008 Chrysler Sebring?
A: While working on the power steering line/hose for the 2.4L engine, keep the hoses apart from the exhaust system, driveshafts and anything that could scratch them. The first step is to place the pressure hose tube onto the gear and tighten its tube nut to 32 Nm (24 ft. lbs.). Line the power steering hose routing clamps up with the crossmember and tighten their screws to 8 Nm (71 in. lbs.). Then set the power steering hose routing clamp on the right side of the crossmember and tighten the routing clamp screw to 8 Nm (71 in. lbs.). Fit the return hose to the return tube and tighten the clamp on it with a screw-clamp to 2.5 Nm (20 in. lbs.). First, lower the vehicle and then join the pressure hose to the pump's pressure port using a 32 Nm (24 ft. lbs.) tube nut. Put the pressure hose routing bracket bolt into the engine mount and tighten it down to 24 Nm (18 ft. lbs.). Fill up the power steering, test for any leaks and fittingly, attach the engine appearance cover.
