2008 Chrysler Town & Country Evaporator Parts and Q&A
Q: How Does the Evaporator Influence Refrigerant Oil Level Adjustment in A/C Systems on 2008 Chrysler Town & Country?
A: Proper servicing of an A/C system requires that the refrigerant oil level is set so that no improper operation or damage to the compressor occurs. When you change several A/C system components, check the Refrigerant Oil Capacities chart to find out how much oil is needed. For a single evaporator replacement, just add 30 milliliters (1 fluid ounce) of the proper refrigerant oil for the compressor. Repairers should replace any O-ring seals and gaskets used on refrigerant lines whenever the lines or expansion valves are detached to prevent leaks. The rear A/C evaporator goes into the inboard area of the rear heater-A/C housing with both the blend-air door and mode-air door in the right position on their pivots. Then, connect the rear heater-A/C housing and put it into place. If you're replacing the rear A/C evaporator, remember to add 30 milliliters (1 fluid ounce) of the correct refrigerant oil to the A/C refrigerant before bubbling the system.
