2008 Chrysler Town & Country A/C Hose Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service an A/C Hose on 2008 Chrysler Town & Country?
A: When servicing the A/C liquid line, detach and block off the negative battery cable and remove the refrigerant from the system. A front part of the A/C liquid line joins the condenser to the receiver/drier, a rear section connects from the receiver/drier to the A/C expansion valve and there is an extra tube for cars with a rear heating-A/C setup. Open the front section, lift the air cleaner housing and inlet duct, unbolt the A/C liquid line from the A/C receiver/drier and pull the line apart. After that, separate the front section nut from the condenser, uncontract the condenser line from the unit and get rid of both O-ring seals and gasket inserted between the pieces. Get the line out of the clip on the right frame rail, then take the complete line out of the engine compartment, covering or taping the holes in the refrigerant line fitting and the condenser and receiver/drier after opening them. For the back part, remove the negative battery rope and recover your refrigerant as you did in the front. If the A/C liquid line is attached to the underbody line, remove this, detach the air cleaner's box and inlet duct and take out the wire connector from the A/C pressure transducer on the rear section of the A/C liquid line at the top of the A/C receiver/drier. Get rid of the A/C pressure transducer and dispose of the O-ring seal, after which you should take off the bolt and line from the rear section and remove the O-ring seal under those. Remove the screw that holds the A/C suction line and A/C liquid line to the expansion valve, remove both lines from the valve and throw away the washer seals. Open the rear section of the system to separate it from the A/C suction line, unattach it from the brackets in the front of the dash and from the last one at the receiver/drier, then pull out the liquid line from engine compartment and cover both the openings and the fittings on the receiver/drier and the expansion valve with tape or plugs.
