How to Ensure Proper Installation of a Steering Wheel on 2008 Dodge Caliber?

Before putting on the steering wheel, remember that the front wheels are straight and the turn signal has to be at its neutral position. Do not press the steering wheel onto the steering column when you drive. Lay the wide spline in the wheel onto the empty area in the steering column shaft and push the wheel firmly in place, making sure the Clock Spring doesn't bind. Fasten the steering wheel retaining bolt (2) after making sure it's tightened onto the shaft by tightening it to 50 Nm (37 ft. lbs.). Place screw (3) back into its original hole near the throttle assembly and connect the wiring connector (2) on the Clock Spring. Place the air bag driver in the vehicle without attaching the battery's negative cable, since the air bag System Test must be run first. When the test is completed, attach the battery again and inspect both vehicles and system function.
