2008 Dodge Dakota Brake Pad Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Change Your Brake Pads on 2008 Dodge Dakota?
A: Start the replacement of the front brake pads by forcing the pistons in the caliper bore with a C-clamp and placing an old brake shoe between them. It is essential to clean the caliper mounting adapter well. Secure new anti-rattle clips (1) onto the brake pads (2), after that, set the inboard brake pad (4) into the adapter (1) and place the outboard brake pad (2) into the adapter. After that, set the caliper over the rotor and press it down onto the adapter. Hold the caliper in place by inserting the bolts for the caliper slide (4 bolts). After finishing, place the assemblies on the wheel and tire and then lower the car to the ground. Several times, apply the brakes, so the pistons and brake shoes become seated and then make sure the master cylinder fluid is up to the proper level.
