2008 Dodge Ram 1500 Blend Door Actuator Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Install a Blend Door Actuator in Single and Dual Zone HVAC Systems on 2008 Dodge Ram 1500?
A: The single zone heating-A/C system has a single blend door actuator; the dual zone system has two, one for each side of the cabin. On the driver side of single or dual zone models, first install the blend door actuator behind the HVAC housing so that the actuator's output shaft lines up with the blend door lever. Attach the actuator to your A/C wire harness with screws of 1.1 Nm (10 in. lbs.) force and link the A/C wire harness connector to the actuator. After that, add the instrument panel and hook up the negative battery cable again. On the passenger side, secure the blend door actuator and bracket assembly to the top of the HVAC housing using 1.1 Nm (10 in. lbs.) screws, attaching a wire harness connector from the HVAC housing to the actuator. When installing the lever, ensure the guide pin on the lever meets with the guides on the blend door linkage, then snap it into position on both the actuator output shaft and the linkage. After that, set the instrument panel and re-connect the negative battery cable.
