Q: How to Service and Repair a Steering Knuckle on 2008 Dodge Viper?
A: Start by raising and supporting the vehicle and then take off the wheel and tire. At this stage, separate the brake caliper from the knuckle and hang it off the wheel so you can easily remove the rotor. Loose the bolt between the ABS wheel speed sensor head and the steering knuckle to release the sensor head. Once that's done, remove both the retaining bolt and the ABS tone wheel from the hub and bearing. Afterward, using Special Tool C-4150A, carefully detach the outer tie rod from the knuckle so you don't damage the tie rod grease seal. Take out the outer tie rod from the knuckle with the same tool and then remove the bolts on the hub and bearing as well. Last, take the hub and bearing assembly from the knuckle and use the right tool to remove the tone wheel seal from the knuckle.
