2008 Dodge Viper Sway Bar Link Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Remove and Service a Rear Sway Bar Link on 2008 Dodge Viper?
A: Raise and support the vehicle safely and then remove the rear wheel and tire assembly to reach the sway bar link. Proceed by unscrewing the retaining nut at the link end of the sway bar, using only Remover, Special Tool MB991113. Unscrewing with a pickle fork or an alternative tool can damage the seal or ball joint. Use the same special tool to isolate the sway bar from its link. Turn the nut loose, but don't remove it from the stud, since this will prevent the nut from damaging the sway bar link; instead, thread it to the end of the stud. Place the center punch into the dimple at the end of link stud 4, strike it with a hammer and this will remove link stud 4 from lower control arm 3. After all, lift the sway bar link from the vehicle.
