  A: The first step to repair the vacuum brake booster is to get rid of the master cylinder. After that, separate the vacuum hose from the booster check valve. After that, take off the clip holding the booster push rod to the brake pedal and pull the rod off its pin. After that, detach the nuts holding the booster mounting plate to the front cowl panel. Take out the booster and its mounting plate from the cowl panel, so you can remove the booster from the engine compartment in the car. Then, unscrew the booster nuts from the holding plate. If your vehicle has a clutch pedal, unplug it from the clutch M/C prior to taking off the booster from its mounting plate.
