2008 Jeep Wrangler ABS Control Module Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Install and Reprogram an ABS Control Module on 2008 Jeep Wrangler?
A: You should reprogram the Electronic Brake Control Module (ABM) using the scan tool if it is being replaced. Put the ABM on the Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) and tighten the screws up to 2 Nm (16 in. lbs.). You should then install the HCU/ABM assembly to the mounting studs by securing it with two mounting nuts and a bolt, tighten them to 11.5 Nm (102 in. lbs.). Screw the brake lines onto the HCU and tighten them using a torque wrench to 19 Nm (170 in. lbs.). Attach the fitting on the wiring harness to the ABM and press down on the release to lock it in place. After that, install the master cylinder and then link the master cylinder serpentine belt to its sprocket. Next, bleed all the ABS brake lines after finishing the installation.
