2008 Jeep Wrangler Wheel Bearing Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Install a Wheel Bearing on 2008 Jeep Wrangler?
A: Examine the axle shaft retaining plate (1) for bends or warps and change it if you notice any. After that, put the retaining plate (1) onto the axle shaft (2). Place a thin coat of grease on the part of the axle seal where it will make contact, then join seal (1) to the axle shaft (2) with its cavity directed opposite the axle shaft retainer. Slide the bearing and bearing retaining ring (1) over the axle shaft (2) and press them on using a press and press blocks. Following that, place the dust shield (1) and support plate (2) onto the axle shaft retainer. Apply Mopar Wheel Bearing Grease or another equivalent, inside the bearing and clean the outside of it with a rag after use. After that, place the axle into your car.
