2009 Dodge Caliber Air Bag Sensor Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service the Air Bag Sensor in the C-Pillar on 2009 Dodge Caliber?
A: To service the side impact sensor at the C-pillar, you need to disable SRS by removing and isolating the battery negative cable for two minutes after which the capacitor will be discharged and serious injury can be prevented. One should not hit, scratch or drop the side impact sensor, as impact may result in calibration problems that call for a replacement part. The sensors on the front and sides are designed to work either place. First, take out the quarter trim panel inside the lower C-pillar. After that, take out the screw that holds the side impact sensor to the C-pillar and disconnect the wire harness connector from the sensor's connector receptacle. The next step is to take out the sensor hidden behind the C-pillar.
