2009 Dodge Dakota Brake Caliper Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Remove and Replace a Brake Caliper on 2009 Dodge Dakota?
A: Installing a prop rod on the brake pedal and pushing it down will prevent the master cylinder from draining as you replace the disc brake caliper. Afterward, lift up and firm up the vehicle, then take the tire and wheel off to continue. Press the caliper (6) to compress the brakes and then remove the banjo bolt (4) and throw out the copper washers. After that, remove the bolts that secure the slide pin to the brake caliper (2) and remove the caliper (1) from the adapter (2). After all that, pull the caliper slide pins off the adapter.
