2009 Dodge Dakota Engine Mount Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair an Engine Mount for 2WD and 4WD on 2009 Dodge Dakota?
A: When servicing and repairing an engine mount on any Toyota model, first take off the negative cable from the battery. If you have a 2WD, take out the cooling fan, raise the vehicle and then get rid of the engine oil filter and oil drain trough. To protect the engine, place a jack beneath it and then put a block of wood across the engine oil pan. Place another jack under the front axle. Later, detach the bolts fastening the engine mounts to the front axle and then take out those bolts joining the axle with the left engine bracket and remove the axle from the car. With the through bolts taken out, raise the engine enough to take off the left and right engine mounts and after that the bolts that attach the mounts to the engine. For the manual method, with the negative cable taken off, pull the fan, lift up the vehicle and remove the front crossmember and skid plate. Once the old engine filter and the oil drain are off, prop up the engine and front axle like we described before. Untighten the bolts on the front engine mounts from the axle and those connecting the axle to the engine bracket on the left, lower the axle and pull out the through bolts. After that, remove the air fan, raise the engine so you can get to both engine mounts and then remove the bolts and the mounts.
