2009 Dodge Durango Heater Core Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Remove the Rear Heater Core on 2009 Dodge Durango?
A: Before removing the rear heater core, you should first cut power to the battery by removing its negative cable. After that, take out the rear heater-A/C housing. A deformed or damaged seal should be replaced as soon as possible. Remove the foam seal from the rear heater core tube and the evaporator line flange one at a time. Take out the screw that holds the rear heater core tube and evaporator line flange to the side of the rear heater-A/C housing that faces outboard. Pull up on the retaining tab that holds the rear heater core tube and evaporator line flange in place on the rear heater-A/C housing, then take off the flange. After that, unscrew the rear heater core retaining bracket from the rear heater-A/C housing and remove the bracket. A damaged or deformed seal around the heater core must be changed. Pull the rear heater core carefully from the inboard section of the rear heater-A/C housing.
