How to Install a New Air Bag for Passengers on 2009 Dodge Grand Caravan?

Turn off the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) by removing and separating the battery negative cable and allow two minutes for the system capacitor to drain. Do not allow any foreign materials in the passenger air bag and make sure no items get trapped between the cushion and the door and do not paint the air bag door since that could change how the air bag deploys. Connect the passenger air bag and air bag door to the instrument panel as a unit and then, while holding them there, lower the air bag unit into the panel, adjusting so the air bag mounting bracket lines up with the support bracket. Put the snap clip at the outboard edge of the air bag door into the receptor in the instrument panel base trim and push until you hear it click. Connect the instrument panel wire harness to the air bag inflator wire connector and make sure the latch and red lock are fully locked. Slide the retainer of the air bag pigtail harness connector onto the structural support, then attach the three screws in the bracket to the support with a torque of 6 Nm (55 in. lbs.). Then, fix the two rearward edge screws and tighten them and fasten the two inboard screws after that, before fastening the three forward screws, all while being careful not to any screws into the defroster opening. Attach the upper glove box in its space on the instrument panel, yet wait to connect the battery negative cable as the SRS verification test is done only after working on any piece of the SRS system.
