  A: While servicing the A/C refrigerant system, make sure to adjust the refrigerant oil to prevent both system malfunction and possible compressor failure. Refer to the Refrigerant Oil Capacities chart when installing more than one replacement component in your refrigerant system. Whenever a refrigerant line is unhooked from the expansion valve or the expansion valve is taken out, always replace the O-ring seals. Remove all tape or plugs that are blocking the underbody refrigerant line fittings and the rear evaporator and expansion valve ports. Add clean oil from the refrigeration system to the new rubber O-rings and use only the right O-rings and oil for the compressor while installing them on the rear evaporator tube fittings. Put the rear A/C expansion valve on the rear evaporator in the space behind the right rear wheel housing through the rear floor panel and secure it with two bolts tightened to 11 Nm (97 in. lbs.). Grease the seal fittings on the underbody refrigerant extension tubes and then put new rubber O-ring seals in place using the proper ones and refrigerant oil. Be sure to align the underbody lines for refigerant with the rear A/C expansion valve and then tighten the sealing plate retaining nut to keep any damage from occurring. Join the underbody refrigerant extension lines with the rear A/C expansion valve, secure them with a loose nut, then plug the underbody lines into the extension lines and tighten the connection nuts to 23 Nm (17 ft. lbs.). After that, attach the extension line and sealing plate to the rear A/C expansion valve and tighten the holding nut to 11 Nm (97 in. lbs.), lower the vehicle, decompress the refrigerant, adjust the refrigerant oil and place proper refrigerant into the A/C system.
