- Q: How to Remove the Wiper Motor from the Liftgate on 2009 Dodge Nitro?A: The first step to removing the wiper motor is to cut the connection to the negative terminal of the battery. After that, take out the rear wiper arm from the rear wiper motor output end. No need to remove the output shaft bezel or the grommet before the motor is removed from the liftgate. After that, remove the trim panel from the inner part of the liftgate. Separate the electrical wires from the year wiper motor. Following that, get rid of the three screws on the motor mounting bracket that are fastened to the inner panel of the liftgate and pull the motor out of the liftgate. After that, take the bezel and the rubber grommet off the outer liftgate panel from the output shaft housing, all while protecting the outer liftgate panel and its paint finish.
