How to Maintain the Brake Light Switch on 2009 Dodge Ram 2500?

Before working on the brake light switch, turn off the SRS by disconnecting and isolating the negative side of the battery, then wait two minutes after the action. After that, identify the brake lamp switch next to the support bracket that is affixed to the lower end of the steering column. Separate the wire harness connector from the brake lamp switch and rotate the back of the switch about 30 degrees until the tabs on its locking collar fit into the keyed hole on the switch mounting bracket. Take the keyed hole and pull back the switch straight to take it out of the bracket. Keep in mind that once the switch is replaced in the bracket, the self-adjusting plunger is meant for use just one time; thus, if the switch is ever removed, a new switch must be installed. Throw away the removed brake lamp switch.
