2009 Dodge Viper Control Arm Bushing Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Remove Control Arm Bushing from the Front Lower Control Arm on 2009 Dodge Viper?
A: The first step is to detach the control arm from the vehicle and when using a vise, protect the control arm with soft jaw caps to stop any damage. Put the lower control arm into the vise with the bushing you want to remove sitting inside the vise where the jaws are. Oil the threads on Screw Assembly 6969-3 with a proper lubricant before using Special Tool 6969B. Attach the components of Remover/Installer, Special Tool 6969B, together through the bushing. Only manual tools should be used on Special Tool 6969B; never use an impact wrench. When removing the tools through the arm, notice that a bit of bushing rubber could land between the Remover and the control arm rubber bore, adding extra resistance you may feel. While holding Screw 4 in place, rotate Nut 1 on Special Tool 6969-4, moving the isolator bushing from the control arm and into Receiver, Special Tool 6969-2. Work through the instructions for fitting the Front Suspension Stabilizer Bar Bushing during the bushing installation.
