2009 Jeep Commander Antenna Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Detach the Antenna Module Assembly for Remote Start on 2009 Jeep Commander?
A: First, keep the Remote Start Antenna Module Assembly in place and cut off the negative cable from the battery before working on it. Behind and to the left of the cover for the glove box is where you can find the control module, with its connector linking to the WIN on the ignition switch near your right hand. You need to start by uninstalling the glovebox and radio to reach the coax cable tie wraps. To remove both bezel covers, you should use a plastic trim removal stick, since they snap on. After that, open the silencer pad with two screws and then get rid of the knee blocker. Unscrew the two screws at the front of the ignition switch and one screw at the top, then turn the ignition switch assembly to get to the module's electrical connector. Unplug the coax connector from the WIN and loosen the tabs while sliding the module away from the locating pins on the I.P. Take care to cut the coax cable ties where they are marked and pull the coax cable through from the outside through the I.P. holes.
