2009 Jeep Commander Antenna Cable Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service and Repair an Antenna Cable for the Instrument Panel on 2009 Jeep Commander?
A: Beginning with the battery, you should first turn off the air bag system, give two minutes for its capacitor to drain, then work on the antenna cable. When replacing the audio system on a domestic car, start by disconnecting the battery's negative wire, next remove the radio without pulling the antenna cable directly, then take out the antenna cable by unlatching it from the radio, open the glove box, take off the side panel of the instrument cluster, disconnect the cable connected to the front of the instrument panel from the antenna and finally release the antenna from the vehicle with the straps on either side. You should disable the air bag system and disconnect the car's battery, then detach the instrument panel, avoiding any problem when releasing the antenna cable from the radio, release the mounting holders for the antenna cable on top of the instrument panel and remove it.
