2009 Jeep Commander Dimmer Switch Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Dimmer Switch for Fog/Driving Lamps on 2009 Jeep Commander?
A: To work on the fog/driving lamp switch, discharge the SRS by isolating the negative battery cable, letting go of it and waiting two minutes for discharge. First, lift off the shrouds from the top and bottom of the steering column. After that, take out the instrument panel wire harness from the receptacle on the back of the left multi-function switch. Take out the screw that holds the left multi-function switch to its place in the bracket of the Clock Spring. Push the lever from the Clock Spring side to remove the slide tabs on the switch from the openings in the mounting bracket. Unplug the wire connector of the jumper cable from the inboard end of the left multi-function switch and pull the switch out of the Clock Spring after that.
