How to Maintain and Fix a Wiper Arm on 2009 Jeep Commander?

For wiper arm service or repair, begin by rotating the wiper arm up and over to the center to position the wiper blade away from the windshield and let up on the spring pressure at the wiper arm and pivot shaft connection. After taking away the plastic nut cap on the wiper pivot end, remove the nut under it and loosen the wiper arm from the wiper pivot shaft. You should not use a battery terminal puller when removing the front wiper arm, since it could harm the arm. Shake the front wiper back and forth slightly on the pivot shaft which will help the wiper arm come off the pivot shaft.
