2009 Jeep Wrangler A/C Condenser Parts and Q&A
Q: How to remove an A/C condenser on 2009 Jeep Wrangler?
A: The first step is to disconnect the negative cable on the battery to protect it and then evacuate the refrigerant from the system. After that, take away the coolant recovery container. If the engine under the hood is a 2.8L Diesel, gently take out the air outlet hose from the CAC and place it so it's out of your path. Disconnect the two lines that join the A/C discharge and liquid to the A/C condenser and throw out their O-ring seals and gaskets. Put plugs or tape over all the open refrigerant line fittings and condenser ports. Remove the cover on the front grille, the cooling fan and its shroud. On vehicles with a 2.8L Diesel engine, take out the four bolts that hold the CAC to the front of the radiator. For a vehicle with a manual transmission, take out the two bolts connecting the radiator to the upper support, lift the radiator gently backward for some room, unfasten the five bolts attaching the A/C condenser to the radiator and pull the condenser out from the engine space. For vehicles using an automatic transmission, take out both the radiator and A/C condenser as a set, place them on the workbench, remove the five bolts inside the assembly and pull the A/C condenser out of the front of the engine compartment. When required, disconnect the bolt fastening the transmission cooler line adapter to the left side of the fluid cooler. When asked, take out the A/C receiver/drier that's attached to the side of the A/C condenser.
