2008 Jeep Wrangler A/C Condenser Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Remove an A/C Condenser on 2008 Jeep Wrangler?
A: To take away the A/C condenser, first shut off the negative cable on the battery and get the refrigerant from the system. With that, remove the coolant recovery reservoir from the pump. If your car is equipped with a 2.8L engine, pull the air intake hose off the throttle body and place it outside of the bay. After removing the lined nuts securing both of the A/C pipes, disconnect the lines, throw away the old O-rings and gaskets. After you open the refrigerant line fittings and condenser ports, install proper plugs on them or apply tape. Take out the grille and also the upper radiator cover. With an automatic transmission, take out the radiator and A/C condenser as a unit and put it on a workbench. Pry the bolts that fix the A/C condenser to the radiator out, then lift the A/C condenser off the radiator. For cars using manual transmission, open the upper radiator support, release the two screws, push the radiator backwards and take out the A/C condenser from the engine compartment in front. Remove the bolt joined to the left part of the transmission fluid cooler and take off the A/C receiver/drier if positioned on the right side of the A/C condenser.
