  A: Before working with the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Valve, isolate and disconnect the negative battery terminal, remove the tube and lift the upper intake manifold. After that, separate the right bank ignition wires from the spark plugs, unhook the ignition wire harness from the valve cover studs and relocate the harness. Carefully disconnect the wiring near the EGR valve from the electrical connector. If your vehicle is automatic, support it on a hoist, unbolt the tube holding the transmission fluid level indicator and position it before taking the vehicle down. In the end, unbolt the two EGR valve mounts and remove the valve, tossing away its gasket.
