  A: Before servicing the brake light switch, remove the air cleaner cover by releasing the two clips lodged at each end and keep the cover handy during the service. Once that is done, separate and disconnect the battery negative cable from its location on the battery. Get rid of the silencer pad once you find it below the knee blocker and unfold the knee blocker between the steering wheel and center tunnel. To release the brake lamp switch, turn it counterclockwise about 30 degrees and then withdraw it backward from its bracket. Lastly, separate the wiring harness connector from the brake lamp switch and throw it out because it has to be replaced.
