2009 Chrysler PT Cruiser Brake Light Switch Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Install a Brake Light Switch on 2009 Chrysler PT Cruiser?
A: For installation, replace the old brake lamp switch by getting a new one and confirm the small lever next to the wiring connector is at a 45° angle before you connect it; if parallel, the switch is ready-set and must be rejected. Link the wiring harness with the switch connector. While matching the index tab with the notch on the mounting bracket, turn the switch clockwise, ending up approximately 30° past the locking position. Apply the brake pedal to the ground and set the lever of the brake lamp switch so it is level with the connector after adjusting from the 45° position. Next, place the knee blocker and the silencer pad under it and after that hook up the battery negative terminal. Make sure the air cleaner cover is in place with two clips, check that the stop lamps do not stay on after the brake pedal is released and test both brakes, the ABS and speed control if your vehicle is so equipped.
