2010 Chrysler PT Cruiser Fuel Rail Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Install a Fuel Rail and Its Components on 2010 Chrysler PT Cruiser?
A: Put a light amount of clean engine oil on the O-ring at the end of each fuel injector, then fit them inside each cup on the fuel rail before beginning the attachment. Fit each injector with its retaining clip to guarantee it is captured well, then insert the fuel injector nozzles into the corresponding places in the intake manifold and check they are seated well. After that, insert 2 bolts into the fuel rail, tighten them to 22.5 Nm (16.5 ft. lbs) and then attach the wiring harness to the fuel rail and secure every electrical connector on each fuel injector. Attach the fuel line to the fuel rail, line up the assembly and put 2 tight-fitting bolts into the thermostat housing, tightening them to 12.5 Nm (110 in. lbs.). Slide the upper radiator hose clamp back onto the hose, then link the 2 small hoses to the thermostat housing. Add the coolant, then put the intake manifold in place and use a socket wrench and torque nut to tighten it-the two bolts in the rear to 28 Nm (250 in. lbs.) and five bolts at the front to the same torque. Pull the vacuum lines to the back of the intake manifold, snap the MAP sensor's electrical connector into place and fix the cables onto the throttle body bracket. Feed the throttle and speed control cables to the throttle body and then fit the throttle control shield. Lock the electrical connections inside the throttle body, install the purge hose, join the throttle body inlet hose and tighten both with the clamps to 3 Nm ±1 (25 in. lbs. ±5). Attach the end of the negative battery cable to the car and perform a fuel system check using the San Tool ASD Test.
