2010 Dodge Caliber Brake Booster Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Install a Brake Booster on 2010 Dodge Caliber?
A: Before fitting the power brake booster, insert a NEW dash seal onto the bolts that the booster will be mounted on. Slide the push rod and studs from the booster through the holes in the dash panel. Do not move the instrument panel; underneath it, attach all four power brake booster mounting nuts (4) and tighten them with 23 Nm (17 ft. lbs.) of torque. Put a drop or two of Mopar(R) Lubriplate or the equivalent on the place where the brake pedal pin (3) touches the brake booster input rod (1). Bend the power brake booster push rod (1) and connect it to the pin (3) on the brake pedal. After that, secure the new retaining clip (2) onto the end of the pin and toss out the old one. Attach and adjust the switch for the stop light in the bracket of the brake pedal. Fit the steering column opening cover reinforcement (1) into the steering column opening and hold it in place with mounting screws (2). place the steering column opening cover (and air bag if you have one). Be sure the hose does not touch any surface as you attach it to the vacuum valve. Fasten the master cylinder and then attach the battery's negative cable to its post. If the brake pedal is not firm, you should lighten the brake pressure by bleeding the base brake line before driving the vehicle. In the end, test the brakes by taking the vehicle on the road before calling the company.
