2010 Dodge Caliber Brake Caliper Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Remove and Replace a Rear Brake Caliper on 2010 Dodge Caliber?
A: Depress the brake pedal at least 1 inch using a brake pedal holding thing, keeping it down to prevent fluid from leaving the master cylinder as the rear brake is removed and changed. After that, elevate and brace the vehicle and take off the three wheel bolts as well as the rear wheel and tire. Take out the nut on the brake tube on the rear flex hose, then freed the clip that keeps the flex hose attached to the trailing link mounted bracket to remove the flex hose from the bracket. Take the brake flex hose out of the brake caliper by removing its attachments. While undoing the two brake caliper guide pin bolts, remember that one has a special sleeve at the tip and the other is plain; which has the sleeve depends on the model, as it can be installed at either the top or bottom, again depending on the car. Align and reinsert the bolts to their previous locations so NVH does not become a problem. After removing the brake caliper guide pin bolts, slide the caliper with its outboard pad along the adapter bracket toward the wheel, disconnect the caliper and rotor and then raise it up to remove the brake disc. In the end, use a tool to move the clip over the raised piece of the caliper and then take out the outside brake pad.
