2010 Dodge Caliber Oil Filter Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Replace an Oil Filter According to the Maintenance Schedule on 2010 Dodge Caliber?
A: Changing the engine oil and filter at the specified times is necessary as shown in the Maintenance Schedule. Run your engine until it becomes warm, place your vehicle on a level road and shut down the engine. Take off the oil fill cap and bring the vehicle up on a hoist. Place the container under the drain plug (2) and unscrew it so the old oil drains into the bowl below. Check the threads on the drain plug while you drain the oil; if the threads seem damaged, replace the drain plug and gasket. Change the filter (1) and put in a Mopar(R) or equivalent one. Place the oil pan drain plug (2) and tighten it to 28 Nm. Set the truck on the ground, open the engine cover and fill the engine oil until the level is correct. Once the oil fill cap is placed, power up the engine and check for any oil leaks and once you're done, shut down the engine and see the oil level. Get rid of used engine oil properly, making sure it doesn't get on your skin and sticking to the laws set by your community.
