Before you start service on the fuel rail, first deflate the fuel system pressure and place the vehicle in an appropriately airy space without anything that could ignite. Take off the
Intake Manifold plenum and start by disconnecting the negative
Battery Cable and covering the intake manifold to stop any foreign debris from going into the engine while the vehicle is off. Unplug the fuel pipe quick connect fitting at the rear of the fuel rail and the electrical connectors at the injectors by pressing the red slider backward and releasing the tab to free the connector. A tag on the wiring harness shows the injector position; if there's no tag, note the wiring place before you pull it out. Lift out the bolts on each side of the fuel rail and take the fuel rail straight off the cylinder head. Get rid of the retaining clips and carefully take the
Fuel Injectors from the fuel rail. Before installation, rub a small amount of clean engine oil on the O-rings of the fuel injectors, insert the retaining clips and keep pushing the injectors into the fuel rail until the clips reach their proper spot. After putting the fuel rail over the cylinder heads, push and tighten the bolts until you reach 11 Nm torque. Attach the supply tube tube's quick connect fitting to the fuel rail and plug the electrical connectors into the fuel injectors. Insert the intake manifold plenum, connect the battery cable's negative end and pressurize the fuel system using the scan tool to find leaks.
