For servicing and repairing the check on the front door, first take off the door trim panel and then unscrew the door speaker. After that, remove the door foil from the front of the inner door panel, change any damaged foil and take off the plastic seal on the check strap bolt. Make sure not to harm the paint on your vehicle. Unscrew the torx screw, slide out the retaining plate and remove the bolts connecting the check strap to the door. Then, pull the seal away from the strap on the door. Pull the strap of the door check through the inside door panel opening. To install, lubricate the check strap on the door below the plastic, then insert it at the installation opening. Put the screw through the hole in the seal, secure firmly and install it on the door check strap, with the bolts at the end tightened first. Place and tighten two bolts connecting the door check strap to the door; this should be 10 N.m (88 in.lbs.) tightness. Then complete with the torx screw and the retaining plate. After aligning the door foil, return the door speaker to its spot by screwing it into position and lastly, snap the trim panel onto the front of the inner door.
