Service and repair the rear door latch by first taking out the trim panel and watershield from the inside of the rear door. After that, remove the door glass channel and bracket. Open up the rear of the door, remove and release the plastic clip linking the door latch's lock link with the latch lever. Remove the link that holds the door lock together with the knob, then pop both door handle latch release clips off the latch lever. Take out the three screws that hold the latch to the outer side of the rear door's latch face. After taking out the door wire harness connector from the front door latch, unattach the latch from the front door shell. For assembly, fasten the door wire harness plug to the latch, put the latch on the inside of the rear door and tighten the three screws to 12 N.m or 108 in.lbs. Use the exterior door handle latch release link to open it, then hook the plastic clip onto it. After that, do the same for the interior side. Line up the link, knob unit and interior door latch lock by placing them all in the rear door and aligning them with the latch lever, then keep them in place with the clip. Place the door glass channel and bracket and then the watershield and trim panel next. After that, open the outer latch access slot and turn the wrench to loosen the screw there. Push the outside latch release handle a few times and then tighten the screw back up when it stops.
