Do not drive the vehicle for at least 24 hours after the install as this allows the urethane to properly hold in case something happens. To prepare for installation, lower each side door glass partway so the pressure in your vehicle isn't increased if a door is slammed. For a reused windshield, gently scrape off as much of the old urethane from the edge as possible with a razor knife, staying careful around the paint edges near the windshield fence. Clean the edges of the window seal, leaving just one millimeter of old urethane to ensure the new seal sticks well. Insert replacement support spacers wherever they are missing or damaged around the windshield under the cowl and level the original urethane bead to 1 millimeter after removing damaged adhesive-backed spacers. Add new adhesive-backed spacers to the windshield fence and install a rubber seal all the way along the windshield's upper edge. With someone's help, place the windshield where it belongs onto the spacers and against the fence, making sure it is level. Outline the windshield on the car and on the fence and then take the windshield off and put it on a soft work pad. Work an ammonia-based cleaner on the inside of the windshield, then use a suitably soft cloth to wipe the glass clean. Next, add glass prep adhesion promoter to the edge of the windshield and wipe it dry until streaks disappear. Then use glass primer along the rim and give it about three minutes to dry. Make sure everything looks even by checking with a flashlight and add more primer where needed. Spray the fence with ammonia glass cleaner, then put on pinch weld primer all around it, make sure it looks even once dried and use a fingertip to check it. With a triangular adhesive nozzle, make a 10 mm wide bead of adhesive 6 mm from the glass edge, on the bottom center and run your hand over the ends to press them flush. With help, move the windshield above the opening, place its reference marks where they should be and slowly put it down, guiding the rubber edge into position. Work the windshield in so that it touches the spacers and the bottom of the windshield fence, then put on the cowl grill and the rear view mirror.
