The Chrysler LHS Crankshaft Seal is a critical part that reflects the Chrysler LHS series which was manufactured between 1994 and 2001. Situated at the front of the engine, this Crankshaft Seal shall help to avoid leaks in the crankcase, which is substantial for the proper oiling of the engine. The Chrysler LHS Crankshaft Seal is made from a combination of metal and rubber and is an important component that abstracts the motion from the crankshaft and helps to lessen the amount of friction thus ensuring that the engine is protected from being worn out repeatedly and in the process making the operation of the car as safe as possible. Compatibility with various LHS models means that this Crankshaft Seal corresponds to the needs of each generation, be it the owner of a 3.5L V6 engine of the first generation or the second, in which some improvements have been made. This makes Chrysler LHS Crankshaft Seal very useful when it comes to high mileage usage, thus, enhancing the reputation that it has earned as a very reliable Crankshaft Seal. First of all, it is worth mentioning that Chrysler LHS Crankshaft Seal comprises the elements of advanced design that define both its durability and efficiency on the automotive market. It maintains the pressure within the engine thus augments its performance while at the same time serving a safety measure for the overall vehicle and therefore it is a worthy investment for anyone that has a Chrysler LHS.

Chrysler LHS Crankshaft Seal Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service and Repair a Front Crankshaft Seal on Chrysler LHS?
    A:
The first thing to do when servicing the front Crankshaft seal is to take off the Timing Belt. Then, set up Special Tool L-4407-A and fasten it to your engine to take out the crankshaft sprocket and tap the dowel pin out of the crankshaft. Avoid damaging the surfaces when you remove the crankshaft seal with Special Tool 6341. The surface of the shaft seal lip must be clear of varnish, dirt or scratches and, if needed, can be smoothed with 400 grit paper. To set the seal, fit Special Tool 6342 into the crankshaft bore and install the crankshaft seal before inserting the dowel pin into the crankshaft 1.2 mm (0.047 inch) deeper than the base of the pin. Proper installation depth for the crankshaft sprocket can be verified using Special Tool 6641. Once finished with the valve clearance, use Special Tools 6641 and C-4685-C1 to mount the crankshaft sprocket and put the timing belt back in place.
